Better Adventures generally presents tours during light rain, light snow or shine. In the event of inclement weather Better Adventures reserves the right to cancel tours and will reach out via the information taken during the reservation with typically 4 hours anticipation. If severe weather is being forecast with certainty earlier than that then the tour will be canceled earlier.

Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in New York City and it's safe to say we specialize in great tours for natives. Locals often attend to learn about the neighborhoods and the city in which they live or work but realize they truly know little about. Others realize they don't know this city inside out and explore places with our experts to get a whole new perspective.

It is a good idea to arrive at the meeting location ten to fifteen minutes prior to the tour start time. In fairness to the people, who arrived on time, we will leave promptly at the tour start time albeit attempts will be made to find you. If you are running late, you may call us at 646-571-8280 to try and let the guide know and they will often wait if it's within reason. Beyond 15 minutes and our guides are narrating the tour and will not pick up their cellphones. It is your responsibility to be on time.

We typically pass a restroom during the tour, however we strongly urge you to use the restrooms before the tour.

Children of all ages are welcome to join our tours. Some streets and sidewalks are narrow and may be difficult to navigate with a stroller. Some tours have some adult content. We do not charge for children younger than school-age on public tours.

All walking tours last approximately two and a half hours. We walk between one and two miles during this time. We maintain a moderate walking pace, stopping at various sites along the tour.

Wear comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. We also recommend a bottle of water and a camera to capture all your favorite New York memories.

Unless explicitly stated in the tour description, any purchases (i.e. snacks, refreshments) made during or at the end of one of our walking tours will be paid for by the purchaser, not Better Adventures.

Tipping is always optional, and if it means you are not going to be able to feed your children tonight, then please save your money. But if you had a great time and want to thank your tour guide, gratuities are very much appreciated.

Please let us know if you or anyone in your group has a dietary restriction (vegetarian, diabetic, peanut allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. If you let us know a couple of days prior to your tour we can usually substitute a food tasting. Please email us if you have additional questions concerning dietary restrictions.

Yes, please print the payment confirmation email you receive after your purchase is processed or keep a copy on your mobile device to show to your guide upon arrival.

Yes! We welcome birthday, bachelor(ette), corporate, and other private tours. Each of our itineraries can be booked as a private tour. We can even offer custom tours that combine elements of some of our itineraries. For private tour pricing, please contact us at g.rey@thenyctour.com Private tours are available for groups up to 60 people.

With your deal purchase, you should have received a unique coupon code (or voucher number). This code will allow you to book any one of our tour itineraries for a date/time that is not sold out. Please call or email to make a reservation.

We require your email address at time of purchase because we need to know where to send our walking tour instructions, including the meeting point. We also need it if we need to notify you of inclement weather, etc. In accordance with our privacy policy we will not sell or rent your email to third parties.
